Description
xDyslexia is a common learning disability that affects the way the brain interprets written language. It can make reading, writing, and comprehension very difficult in lots of different ways: sometimes characters flip backwards or sentences swim together or the entire idea of what words mean just disappear for a moment! Without support, it can be very hard for students and adults to succeed.
There are lots of ways to help! Audio books, special fonts, and guided verbal reading are all accommodations that can be used in school and at home.
The best part of dyslexia, though, is that is it often associated with higher intelligence in spatial, mathematical, and problem solving dimensions. Reading and writing are important, sure, but they're not the only things that are important!
Dyslexia Rabbit knows your frustration - and they also know that the more frustrated you are, the more those wacky words act up! Give them a squeeze, take a deep breath, and give it another go. If those pesky paragraphs still don't behave, take your buddy on a little walk for a while to clear your mind.
Dyslexia Rabbit Set Includes
1x Super Soft Rabbit - measures approx. 57cm (22 inches) from tip of ears to toes
1x Sturdy Tote Bag - measures 38cm x 33cm (15in x 13in)
Symbolism
🔄 The word "READ" crossed over itself on the chest for reading difficulties between letters.
🔄 Disrupted consonants on the ears for problems deciphering handwriting.
🔄 Alchemical symbol for melt on the feet for buckling under pressure to read aloud.
IMPORTANT NOTE Regarding the design of our mental health-related Plushie Dreadfuls. We take the topics of mental health and mental health awareness seriously. That's why our design team only creates plushies related to mental health issues with which they have direct experience. In cases where our team does not have direct experience, we assemble an external team of experts to help guide our creative process. In addition, we use Crowd Design to engage a wide range of voices via platforms like Instagram and Facebook. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the mental health issues we're exploring. And while we strive to represent as many aspects of a particular mental health issue as possible while avoiding stereotypical symptoms, we hope you understand that plush toys as an artistic medium do limit the full expression of a particular issue to those things that can be crafted in fabric and stitching.
