Psoriasis Rabbit - Plush Stuffed Animal

🐰 Psoriasis Bunny – A Soft Reminder You’re Not Alone

Psoriasis isn’t just skin deep. It stings, itches, isolates—and sometimes, it hides in plain sight. That’s why this bunny exists.

Designed as a plush talisman for those living with the chronic weight of autoimmunity conditions, Psoriasis Bunny carries your story in every stitch: the red flare splotches, the sun-shaped scar on the chest, the lace that both soothes and scratches. It doesn’t flinch from visibility—it honors it.

Whether you’re in a flare, fighting fatigue, or tired of explaining what you “don’t look like,” this bunny knows. It’s not here to fix you. It’s here to stand beside you—quietly, completely—as you reclaim the story your skin has been trying to tell all along.

This is your signal fire.
Your familiar.
Your soft little battle-worn guide.

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that primarily affects the skin. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly accelerates the growth cycle of skin cells, resulting in the rapid accumulation of skin cells on the surface. This leads to the development of red, thick, and scaly patches, known as plaques. These plaques can be itchy, painful, and may cause discomfort for individuals with psoriasis.

The exact cause of psoriasis is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Triggers for psoriasis flare-ups can include stress, infections, certain medications, and changes in weather. There are many different types of psoriasis and one person's experience may differ greatly from others!

Symbology on Psoriasis Rabbit

🌞 Sun Symbol on the Chest
Represents phototherapy, a common treatment for psoriasis, and the sun as a trigger—highlighting the paradox of something that can both heal and harm.

🔴 Red Splotches on the Ears and Limbs
Directly evoke the plaques and flare-ups of psoriasis—visualizing the irritation and visibility that many try to hide.

🖤 Lace Trim Around the Neck and Wrists
Symbolizes both irritation (as lace can be itchy against sensitive skin) and the act of concealment—a nod to the emotional labor of hiding affected skin.

🩹 White Bands on Wrists and Ankles
Represent areas where flare-ups commonly occur (elbows, knees, joints), suggesting chronic discomfort and physical restriction.

🎭 Two-Tone Color Palette (Charcoal & White)
Symbolizes the duality of living with a visible condition—public versus private experience, external perception versus internal pain.

IMPORTANT NOTE Regarding the design of our Plushie Dreadfuls. We take these topics seriously. That's why our design team only creates plushies related to issues with which they have direct experience. In cases where our team does not have direct experience, we assemble an external team of experts to help guide our creative process. In addition, we use Crowd Design to engage a wide range of voices via platforms like Instagram and Facebook. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the issues we're exploring. And while we strive to represent as many aspects of a particular issue as possible while avoiding stereotypical representations, we hope you understand that plush toys as an artistic medium do limit the full expression of a particular issue to those things that can be crafted in fabric and stitching.
